Getting higher rankings in Google Serp is getting tougher and tougher each and everyday passes. We don't know if who is really on the top with the key phrase sikat ang pinoy. Sometimes, your entry is on the top and sometimes on the bottom. We can't predict the rankings as of now. You have to focus and still have a great time in monitoring everday rankings of your opponent. But is there any chances to win in this contest? Is it running out of time?
Chances of winning is always there. It depends on you, your chance of winning depends on how you focus on your goal and on how you build your links in your entry. But its not just easy as you think in building a link. You have to know if your links are good or not! Some optimizer are just building links with no value. It seems that all they want is link, they don't care if it can cause bad for their entry or not. It is called spamming. This is the practice that most of the Search Engine Optimizers are engaging with. Just to rank their site in just a couple of days or weeks.

Sikat ang Pinoy is one of the reason why some of the bloggers are now very hectic. They are busy making blog reviews for their entries, building links, having some comments in some blogs, optimizing them with the key phrase required and monitoring the Google SERP if their entry are visible or not. Well, I am one of those bloggers that joins the Sikat ang Pinoy – Palarong SEO 2009 of the Philippines. I am very challenged to join this contest, why? because this is unique contest I’ve ever known. Why is it unique, because each participants should have a unique content but should use Filipino Language as the primary medium in the contest. I have never optimized Tagalog site and lately I’ve found out that its is very different in optimizing blogs, in English language and Filipino Language.
That’s why I joined the contest, to have fun and experience to optimize a blog which contains tagalog language. So now, where I am in the Google SERP. Yesterday, I checked the Google SERP with the datacenter that the host is providing and I found my entry at the 4th page of Google. Well, I am happy at least that my entry is on the 4th page. It is not far enough on the 1st page. I am still hoping that my rank will increase this week even at least at 2nd or 3rd page of the Google. I am still conducting search engine optimization techniques and experimenting on how the Google crawls for my entries. I have no choice but to wait till all of my works will effect on my entry right away. Patience is the key to success here at Sikat ang Pinoy.
As I surf the net and check the list of the entries in the Sikat ang Pinoy, there are Capiz Bloggers that are joining the said contest. I am one of those capiz bloggers that joins the contest. Well website or blog optimization is really hard profession. Joining some SE Optimization Contest in the net is very hard and difficult. You don’t know who your opponent is or who your friend is. They use some technique like cloaking, blackhat and whitehat. Until now I didn’t know how it works.
After our struggles in Hectic Capiznon Bloggers Contest, we are not able to defeat our enemies and be on the top of the Google SERP. But we are still happy for having another experience and knowledge about Optimizing Blogs. I am a newbie in SEO and I am currently a College Student in RoxasCity, Capiz. Through this seo contest, I had meet some fellow SEO in Capiz and not only in Capiz but in some parts of the Philippines. Second, when you have already gain friends here you are building a bond of friendship and that’s the time that you can ask for some help and tips from your fellow blogger on how to optimize you site or blog. I have already applied those knowledge and advices that I have acquired in our school and from my mentors, but I think without experience, you’ll never know that it is effective or not.
I want to gain experience when it comes in SEO because one of my goal as a college student is to become a good SEO someday, even in the Capiz. I think this Cebu Seo Contest can help me in fulfilling my goal.
